“ Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good. BBQ sauce was tasty. Mac and cheese was average. Mudd pie was delicious and banana pudding was just average. Ambiance is good and they offer outdoor seating. This place is worth checking out. ”
“ The inside of Moe's is so eclectic, spacious and a cool vibe. The service is friendly, prompt and attentive. Best of all, the food is so good! I've had the wings and ribs and they literally left me living my fingers. I happily go back each time I visit the area. ”
“ Had the absolute best time at Moe's! I'm from Texas and recently moved to Ohio and I've been struggling to find really good quality barbecue. Man did this place hit it out of the park! I had smoked chicken, 'Bama style and it was juicy, flavorful and tender. Absolutely delicious fries were crispy and seasoned excellently. Mac & cheese was heavenly and the cornbread was a pillow of perfection. 10/10 recommend this place! ”
“ There are few options for BBQ in town. Luckily this is a great choice located in downtown Newark. Cool atmosphere with wood floors and high ceilings. The menu board is behind the counter. Had some great smoked wings with sides and tap beer. The counter service was solid. The owner/chef also came out to my party to check on us. I would return and recommend. This is a smallish chain with stores in a several states. My visit was in late November 2023. ”
“ NEWARK, Ohio - A drizzly grey November Sunday, 11 am. Wife and I, heading thru Newark, stopped for lunch at this downtown restaurant. We left pleased. Ambience: Good. Big, roomy, plenty of seating, nifty metal tree sculptures inside. Staff: Friendly, very prompt, attentive. Food: Honestly better than we'd anticipated. She got the smoked chicken sandwich, sides of hush puppies and Mac-n-cheese ($12.50). I got the smoked chicken platter w/ jalapeño grits and fried green tomatoes ($13.50) and fountain drink ($3). Sammie wasn't overly generous with the meat but an ok size for a lighter eater. Cole slaw on the sandwich. Potato roll bread. Chicken was tender, juicy. Hush puppies were crisp outside and not overly greasy. Served hot and fresh. The chicken platter was a generous amount of chicken - took some home. Fried green tomatoes had a nice thick cut, very crispy, cooked well. Maybe a touch overly breaded. The sauce drizzle on it maybe could've done without or on the side. Grits had a nice creamy but not thin consistency. Prices quite reasonable . Plenty of downtown parking right in front. Decent draft selection of a handful of Ohio craft beers - we shared a $7.50 Y Bridge blood orange wheat ale. Weren't fans of the Mac-and-cheese side, which was macaroni baked into a lump with coagulated cheddar. Also would've liked actual silverware - the plasticware wasn't cutting it. Overall a nice B+ experience and we'd return when in greater Newark. ”
“ I really enjoyed my lunch at Moe's! I got pulled pork (pay extra to add the white sauce. You won't regret it!), slaw, cornbread, and Mac & cheese. The atmosphere is really cute and fun, and the staff were so nice. Will definitely stop again if I'm ever back in town. ”
“ Moe's was recommended from a friend. When they found out I started working in the area they told me I had to try Moe's. I went to pick up lunch one day and found out for myself just how tasty Moe's is! This inside is decorated beautifully. I love the bar and seating areas. I got a pulled pork sandwich. It tasted amazing. Full of flavor! I am usually a brisket girl but didn't see any on the menu. I was sad they didn't offer brisket. The pork was a good second choice preference though! I am no longer working in the area but would have found Moe's to be a preferred lunch or dinner spot. ”
“ We stopped for the first time tonight, and based on the food we had, it won't be our last visit! We ordered a chicken sandwich with Mac & cheese and Mississippi mud pie, and a pulled pork sandwich Bama style with baked beans and potato salad. For both meals, we upgraded to add two wings. I'm so glad we did. The wings were delish! They were big and meaty, cooked perfectly, and seasoned really well. The pulled pork was juicy and savory, and the chicken was tasty and flavorful albeit a bit dry. (This might be because I asked for the white sauce on the side, while it usually comes on the sandwich.) The sides we picked were okay, but none of them blew us away. The grapefruit Paloma was yummy--not too sweet, not too tart. Before leaving, we were already talking about looking forward to bringing our barbecue-loving family and friends here when they visit. ”
